The Gift of the Injury

 In Today's Practice

Patience. Empathy. Humility. Accepting assistance.

Acute injury, like the surrounding spring, is fertile ground

for sometimes allusive qualities.

I practice now, no cushion required.

No set time to sit.

No books needed.

Acute injury rivets attention, and guides my awareness away from the peripheral.

A nice cup of tea, Murchie’s Royal Alberta Museum, a lovely companion.

Oh, and crossword puzzles.

Being in the moment, absolute.
